The CC2800 track shoes we produce usually undergo multiple quality inspections from casting, heat treatment, machining, and before final packaging to ensure that the chemical composition of raw materials, mechanical properties after processing and other aspects meet the standard requirements of the crawler track shoe.

Non-destructive testing is a test method to inspect the surface and internal quality of the Demag CC2800 track shoe without damaging the performance of the track plates. It can detect whether there are casting defects such as cracks or unevenness on the surface of the track pad, and give information such as the size, location and nature of the defect, and then determine whether the quality of the track shoe is qualified or not.

We usually use magnetic particle inspection and penetrant inspection. The above is the penetrant testing of the recently shipped CC2800 and Liebherr LR1400 track shoes. The osmotic liquid penetrates into the defect by capillary phenomenon. After cleaning, the surface liquid is removed, and the permeation in the defect will remain, and then the capillary action of the imaging agent is used to adsorb the residual permeate in the defect to achieve the purpose of inspection.


Magnetic particle inspection is a flexible and easy-to-operate defect inspection. It uses the interaction between the leakage magnetic field of the surface and near-surface defects of the track shoe and the magnetic powder to attract the magnetic powder to form the magnetic powder accumulation at the defect. Under appropriate lighting conditions, the shape of the defect is revealed.
