VM has been professionally providing crawler crane parts for more than 25 years. Today, VM will take you to visit VM's crane track shoe factory to experience the real track shoe production scene.
Before production, technicians will design models based on customer needs and original factory drawings. Our technicians are experienced and can ensure that the crane track shoe size is accurate and 100% compatible with the crawler crane.
Track shoes are mainly made by the traditional process of casting. Casting is the process of pouring molten metal liquid into a mold and cooling and solidifying it to obtain parts with the required shape and performance. It can obtain complex shapes and large castings, and it accounts for a large proportion in mechanical manufacturing. The figure below is VM's mold room.
Before casting, sand molds need to be made. The figure below shows that the staff is loosening the sand and exhausting the air in the sand mold to prevent pores from forming inside the track shoe during casting.
VM uses high-quality sand molds with good:
•air permeability. After the high-temperature molten metal is poured into the mold, the sand mold is filled with a large amount of gas, which must be discharged smoothly from the mold. Otherwise, the casting will have defects such as pores and insufficient pouring.
•Refractory. After the high-temperature molten metal is poured in, it will have a strong thermal effect on the mold, so the molding sand must have the ability to resist high-temperature thermal effects, that is, refractory. If the refractory of the sand mold material is poor, the track plate is prone to sticky sand.
•Plasticity. It refers to the ability of the molding sand to deform under the action of external force and to maintain the shape completely after the external force is removed. VM sand molds have good plasticity, convenient molding operation, and the sand molds made are accurate in shape and clear in outline.
The pouring process is very shocking, and it also tests the experience and skills of the staff. The staff needs to ensure that the temperature of the molten steel is within the specified range. Once the temperature drops, it needs to be reheated to ensure the quality of the casting.
After the track plate is cast and cooled, the riser needs to be cut off and then rough-processed. The following is a scene of workers cleaning sand and preliminary grinding.
Heat treatment is a crucial step in the production process of track shoes. By heating, insulating and cooling the workpiece, the surface and internal structure of the track plate are changed to improve the performance of the track shoe. VM has advanced heat treatment technology and provides better track shoes. According to customer feedback. The life of VM track shoes is 1.3 times that of track pads from other suppliers. The left picture shows the overall heat treatment of the track plate, and the right picture shows the surface heat treatment of the track pad.
Quality inspection is an indispensable step in the production process of track plates. VM attaches great importance to quality inspection and has dedicated quality inspectors. Each track shoe undergoes meticulous ultrasonic inspection, tensile test, impact test, magnetic particle inspection, hardness test, etc.
Painting is the last step in the production of track plates. VM has upgraded the green and environmentally friendly painting workshop and actively assumes corporate social responsibility.
